Many take this verse and run down the road of unitarianism. They say Jesus will save all men and it does not matter what god one worships or serves. In other words, worshipping “god” equals worshipping the one Triune God regardless what the Bible says. We could quote many verses to disprove this belief such as John 10:30 or 14:6 where Jesus claims deity and to be that one and only way to the Father. There is also 1 John 5:12 which plainly states,
He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
There is another verse too that is just as impactful and maybe even more so. Just before the last verse quoted, we have 1 John 5:10,
He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself : he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God have of his Son.
So, how will Jesus draw all men unto Him? We see this in a plain view of the operation of the world through the eyes of individuals observing the sins of worldliness.
Jesus will draw all men unto Him. At the cross, everyone in Jerusalem saw Him. When they did, we know they did not worship Him. Instead they derided, ridiculed and cat-called. They were called to Jesus, but not for salvation. This happens all across our globe. Some are called to Jesus because He is a good teacher and they want to pattern themselves after that excellence. Some are called to Jesus because He is a good prophet. Some are called to Jesus because they see His morality. All men are called to Him, unfortunately not always for the right reasons.
I have decided that I will not make God’s testimony in the scriptures a liar. I have decided to accept the testimony of Christ. I have decided that Jesus and His Father are one God. I have decided to submit to Jesus’ vicarious atonement on the cross. I have accepted that through the cross, Jesus walked into the Holy of Holies shedding His own pure blood (Heb 9:12). Therefore opening this holy place through His sacrifice.
Trust Christ and His salvation. He is the only way to eternal life. His blood was shed for you and me. Hear His call? Answer, “Yes, I believe!”
