Do you remember when you were first saved? How exciting it was, how relieving it was, how much you were overjoyed at the release from conviction of your sin, the assurance of a heavenly home! Do you remember when you first met Jesus? He knew everything going on in your life! He knew everyone who was in your life! Your desire for His approval, His love, His will was paramount. You wanted Him to approve of you! You wanted to please only Him! You immediately went out into the world and shared His great salvation. Do you still feel that way?

How long after the well experience did she pray this prayer? How many times did she pray it? was one such prayer enough for life? Ask God for the enthusiasm, clear your life of Satan's interference. Get back that excitement you first found in His salvation!

Where did those ambitions and desires go? True, many if not most Christians develop a laissez’ faire life with Christ within months if not weeks sometimes days after conversion. The cause has been debated for centuries, discipleship, pastoral contact, developing relationships are all possible culprits. It is different for each individual. All amount to the person looking back at themselves and wondering why they were forgotten. We point at others as the cause. We loose sight of that initial truth.

It was for Christ, not for learning, not for a pastor, not for the church. Jesus never left you, Jesus is always there waiting for you! Like the woman at the well in John 4:28-29, when she first found the Messiah, the Christ and went quickly to her village and told them about Jesus! We too must keep that zeal. She took them back to the well immediately. She took them to the source of her excitement, to that living water springing up from Christ! Not to a disciple who judged her, but to Christ! The living water springs from Him. You receive enough that you no longer thirst, but Christ gives living water to every believer! You simply lead them to the well. The people of Earth are only worthy of your witness for Christ!

Get that zeal back! Remember! Take loved ones, friends and others to Jesus! Go back to your well experience! Share His great living water, His wondrous salvation with them!
