Jairus, Jesus is the life, Jesus is the resurrection, Jesus resurrection, Jesus' resurrections, John 1:11, Lazarus, Luke 7:11, Mark 5:21, Matthew 27:52, resurrection, son of a widow, young man from nain
The first resurrection we find Jesus giving life to Jairus’ daughter in Mark 5, verses 21 through 43. Jairus, a major patron of a synagogue asks Jesus to heal his daughter, but while Jesus is on his way, men tell Jairus that his daughter has died. Jesus says she was only sleeping and wakes her with the words Talitha kum!
The young man from Nain. In Luke 7:11-17 a young man, the son of a widow, is brought out for burial in Nain. Jesus sees her, and his pity causes him to tell her not to cry. Jesus approaches the coffin and tells the man inside to get up, and he does so. Jesus also resurrected Lazarus (John 11:1-44). A close friend of Jesus who had been dead for four days is brought back to life when Jesus commands him to come forth.
The most spectacular resurrection Jesus has performed was raising himself from the dead. In Matthew 27:52-53 we find that many who were dead raised from their graves and walked into the city when Jesus resurrected! When Jesus resurrected, so much power was unleashed that many others were called to him. When Jesus resurrected individuals, he controlled the power he used to target specific individuals. The fact that so much life power was unleashed proved that He is “the life” as He is “the resurrection.”
